Next WO-NoVA : May 18th 2010

This month's WO-NoVA meeting of DC area WebObjects developers is on 5/18/2010 at 6:30 PM. As usual, the meeting is at K12's offices and food will be provided (RSVP necessary if we're to have a good idea about the food to provide).

New DirectToWeb look: ERModernLook

ERModernLook is a modernized DirectToWeb look added to Project Wonder on April 13 2010. It features tableless semantic markup, uses the Ajax framework from Wonder to supply pragmatic ajax behaviour and a slick CSS. For more details, check David LeBer's blog.

WOWODC 2010

Mark you calendar! WOWODC 2010 will be held on August 27th, 28th and 29th in Montreal. We are currently looking for presenters, so contact us if you wish to present. Please note that WOWODC 2010 will be the only conference for 2010, we don't plan a conference on the West Coast for 2010.

Urgent need for a WebObjects Developer

Sam Rawstorne have an urgent need for a WebObjects Developer to assist with a project implementation. The estimated go live is 8 weeks out and they need assistance integrating with other Java technologies. The right candidate will hold extensive experience accessing Databases / Java / Open source and Terradata. The project will be based in the Northern California for an initial 2 months. WebObjects content from WWDC

If you are a member of the new Mac Developer program, or a member of ADC Premium or Select, you can now access some WebObjects sessions coming from previous WWDCs. Two sessions are available from WWDC 2008, one session from WWDC 2007, two session from WWDC 2006 and one session from WWDC 2005. If you want to learn more about WebObjects and are a member of the Mac developers, those sessions can be really useful, so check them out! They are part of the Information Technologies track.

Toronto Cocoaheads / tacow - July 6

The next meeting of tacow/Toronto CocoaHeads will be held on Tuesday, July 6 at 6:30 PM.

David LeBer is going to talk about code free web app development with WebObjects and ERModernLook. We'll also be having our annual WWDC recap.

Note that the date is tentative - we're looking for a new meeting location. We'll confirm the date and location once we hear from our potential new location.

Practical WebOjects, the book written by Chuck Hill and Sacha Maillais, is now available as a eBook! You can now read it on your iPad or other platfoms that can load this eBook.
