We are looking for a talented senior web application engineer who can demonstrate their expertise in the Web technologies with proficiencies in Java development, OO methodologies, Apple WebObjects or similar web application server technology.

As a member of the web engineering team your creativity, technical expertise, great sense of design, and excellent communication skills will be key factors in enabling you to successfully create our state of the art rich web applications and services.

Responsibilities:

• Prototype, design, develop, test, and deliver components for the Web infrastructure and services.
• Write software code based on functional specification and technical design while adhering to development techniques and standards.
• Conceive and document technical design for software in development while adhering to architectural standards.
• Develop designs that take into consideration the impact on other aspects of the software and appropriately leverage existing code
• Work closely with the SDK/Tools and Desktop client teams to integrate with their components and services.
• Facilitate design walkthroughs with IT and business staff to validate solutions against business requirements.
• Independently analyze and resolve large, complex, high impact production problems, assessing alternatives as appropriate and implementing long-term solutions.
• Provide direction and mentorship to other engineers on the team.
• Leverage technology advances through tactical and strategic technology solutions, reference architectures, frameworks, and components

Qualifications:

• Seven or more years of experience with Software Engineering or related field.
• BA/BS or higher in Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with a successful release of at least one major web application/web service in a large scale environment, development or similar engineering environment.
• Expertise with a variety of Web development tools and languages, such as: Java, WebObjects, JSP, XML, Unix Shell Script, Python
• Expert problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in a dynamic, small start-up environment.
• Nice to have, but not required:
  • Experience with Mac OS X: XCode, AppKit, QuickTime and/or CoreImage
