MyTripJournal Technologies provides an online travel journaling service to customers who come directly to www.mytripjournal.com and to our online partner sites including Lonely Planet, Contiki Holidays and the Good Sam RV Club.
We're looking for a junior developer to help in developing the MyTripJournal platform. This involves working with an existing application written using WebObjects 5.3 (Java), Frontbase, and OS X as a server platform.
Duties include architecting, writing, refactoring code in the application, assisting in daily support, and helping with related tasks - such as infrastructure. A good opportunity to learn a variety of software development skills and usage of tools.
We work in a very agile environment with no red-tape; so we're looking for a dynamic person. You would work with one other experienced WO Developer.
Initially full-time for summer, may extend to full-time permanent. Required: WebObjects 5.3 Eclipse 3.x & WOLips Mac OS X & Linux experience.
Able to identify and optimise bottlenecks (DB and memory) Documentation (Javadoc and architectural) HTML, CSS Must be pro-active and fairly self-sufficient

MyTripJournal is located in beautiful Point Grey in Vancouver, Canada. Preference will be given to local candidates, but we do consider remote developers who are able to work on either a hourly rate, or a short-term contract / project basis.
